Hey there, I'm Tara!
I'm a graphic designer and illustrator based in West Palm Beach, Florida. For the last three years, I worked as the senior graphic designer for Brite Lite Tribe, where I used my skills to design thousands of neon signs for a variety of clients, ranging from small businesses to billion-dollar companies. Similarly, the size of the designs would range from simple 2-foot signs to large and complex 40-foot installations.
My attention to detail, ability to problem solve, work efficiently, and communicate effectively lead me to also become the sole designer responsible for inputting every single order into the manufacturers, which included detailed specs such as exact dimensions, color, acrylic style, and a variety of other specifications. I had to creatively problem-solve to keep the signs within the clients' budget and/or space limitations, which meant each custom sign created typically received multiple mockup variations from me, as well as a final and detailed proof after payment. While I spent a lot of time working on designs for each client, I also had to focus on all in-house graphic design needed for Brite Lite Tribe. This includes seasonal packaging postcards, branded packing paper, stickers, email template mockups, website headers, and any internal assets that required some level of design.
Before my time at Brite Lite Tribe, I worked as a multi-media producer for GIFGIF Global, where I communicated with clients and designed custom graphic overlays and splash pages for their events. While not specifically design related, I also worked as a photo assistant, prop assistant, and production assistant in New York City for two years, which gave me an invaluable ability to work for well-known clients under extreme pressure and with tight deadlines.
My determination and work ethic has always been an integral part of my personality, leading me to teach myself Photoshop at just fourteen years old. I now have over twelve years of experience with Adobe Photoshop, four years of experience with Adobe Illustrator, and eight years of experience with Adobe InDesign.
As I begin to explore a freelance career in Graphic Design and further build my portfolio and experience, my long-term goal is to become a creative director.
